Artist
Kim Heejo
Kim Heejo (b.1980) earned a bachelor’s (2006) in fine arts at the School of Visual Arts and a master’s degree (2018) in painting and sculpture at New York Studio School. Since 2009, she has held solo and group exhibitions in New York and Milan, and currently lives and works in Seoul since 2019.
Heejo Kim currently lives and works in Seoul, Korea. She earned bachelor’s degrees in fine arts at School of Visual Arts(2006) and master’s degrees in painting at New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture (2018).
After having her first solo exhibition, Hello, Dolly! at the Galleria Gil Eroici Furori in Milan, Italy in 2009, she mainly worked in the United States. In 2010, her duo exhibition, The Series, was featured at the Blank Space Gallery in New York, and her solo exhibition, BYR: Prime Elements, was held at UARTSPACE in 2020, and Schematic Medium as Meta-Conceptualism in Seoul, Korea in 2024.
Kim also participated in many group exhibitions, including the the Bowery Gallery (New York, USA), Centotto Gallery (New York, USA), the Main Gallery (New York, USA), Interalia Gallery (Seoul, Korea), Insa Art Center (Seoul, Korea) and Gana Art Center (Seoul, Korea).
