My Artistic Guides: RD (Revolutionary Debris) and Friends
In the Schematic Chart, my emanated self, RD (Revolutionary Debris), appears alongside other characters. These characters show how my mind and artistic world are structured, and guide viewers to explore my world with enjoyment.
Each character goes beyond being a simple symbol and carries the operating principles of the Schematic Medium and hints about forthcoming works. Through this, viewers do not merely appreciate my work but pre-experience another narrative and the possibility of expansion. In the end, this chart is a map that reflects a dimension we do not see in everyday life. Through it I clarify the way I understand and express the world and offer viewers a new visual and philosophical experience. I wish to share not only simple artistic expression but deep thinking and an original perspective.
Revolutionary Debris (RD)
‘GHUT: 것’ World
The different-dimensional world into which RD was born and fell is the ‘GHUT: 것’ world. This is the fundamental world where RD and his friends exist. It is not a concrete place that can be seen with the eyes or defined by language, but a dimension in which flows we do not easily perceive in daily life and invisible movements gather. Here, ‘것 (GHUT, “thing”)’ does not simply mean an object; it means that every object of existence exists together with, or apart from, the subject, and it indicates a relational flow/process in which they influence one another and change.
The dimension of the ‘GHUT: 것’ world is a dynamic space in which invisible orders and energies are entangled and generation and extinction are repeated. All existences are intertwined and flow, do not remain as fixed substances, and all relations and situations keep changing and are fluid. RD and his friends each have their own character and function, but their appearance is sometimes revealed differently according to situation and relation. Within it, form and collision, encounter and departure occur in layers, and in that process new forces arise. RD is the debris left by those forces and the medium that carries the next change, a trace that appears in the world’s rifts. The beings of this world are arranged along three axes, and at their intersections new forces and works arise. I call the operating structure of these three axes ‘The Supremus Trine’ (the three axes of Self, Shift, and System), and RD convenes and coordinates it at each moment of rupture.
‘GHUT: 것’ world opens only when one puts down the yardsticks of desire or utility. When one accepts simply what is there—existing, flowing, and vanishing—only then does one face RD and the world in which they live. It is a world where an adequacy of beauty lives in existence itself, not in usefulness.

RD (Revolutionary Debris)
Debris of revolution and a heterogeneous being fallen into another dimension. An epistemic entity outside the structure, formed by the rallying of fragments left after the collapse of the prior order—he intervenes not with answers but with questions and doubt. Rather than occupy the center, he appears at moments of transition and rupture to unsettle concepts. His face may look fixed, but his presence is mutable.
Meta-Self
An inner sentinel that watches and calibrates the core self. A split-off twin born from the shock of RD’s fall into ‘GHUT: 것’ world. As a winged scout and self-checking observer, it runs an endless loop—seeing → realizing → re-verifying—and continually rewrites its own rules of observation.
Reveals what my core is as a mental subject. The nucleus of the mind. It has the capacity to mine and draw up the essence of the object. One of the three fragments separated by RD’s impact; it grasps rules before forms and strips away unnecessary ornament.
Q-Self
A self that is endlessly curious about the essence of life and keeps asking. The one who asks without end. Travels on media like clouds or vapor, with curiosity setting the direction. Looks sunny on the surface yet, when focused, is relentless; when energy dips, switches to long hibernation. Considers RD a best friend.
Enlighten Man (Seeker)
Annoyed by Q’s barrage of questions yet sustained by that very energy. Undervalues his own intelligence and is often dismissed, but doggedly pursues late-blooming insight. Loves Laozi and Spinoza; seems gentle, yet has a clear line that must not be crossed. Seeks affection and reads the room, yet is in fact deeply considerate; has begun meditation but is timid toward other beings.
Aphorism Man
A figure who converts one’s recognition of the world into artistic action. Like a device that condenses perception into a single sentence and flips it. Rides an infinity symbol of his own making, ferries friends, and delivers barbed one-liners with a touch of nagging. Age is indeterminate; intuition is keen and build is large.
Holon (Biotic Creature)
A living reservoir through which humanity’s accrued essence of philosophy and art flows in and out. It moves slowly, largely unbound by air, gravity, or time. It emits sounds few can decipher and communicates via telepathy and frequency. Like a sage, it holds answers yet withholds them, nudging seekers toward their own exploration. It evolves gradually on resources from a fuel depot and, at times, absorbs finished forms.
Force Man
Represents the physical forces of cosmos, nature, and human. Responds to the call of Holon (Biotic Creature) to shield and stabilize flows; interventions are brief and precise.
ABA
Operates as a bundle of perspectives and elements needed for the next era of art. At the moment just before closure, inserts a small variable to return the structure to an open state.
The Alchemist
Converts worldview and philosophical spirit into artistic concepts and aesthetics. Adept at combining immaterial and material; handles Variety–Balance–Harmony with finesse. Careful and slow-handed; produces lab results only every few months; extremely introverted yet works well with assistants.
Zeustir
With near-omniscient observation, fuses elements governed by different rules. When scale shifts are needed or rule conflicts jam the flow, intervenes to bind with new rules and restore a state of passage.
Filter Man
The sieve at the final stage toward a finished work. Removes noise unrelated to core rules, consolidates duplicated information, and excludes ornament unrelated to the trigger. Modulates flow through three modes: pass, block, hold.
Michon
A collective name for the productive components that constitute the worldview and the art museum/system. Supplies parts such as pigment recipes, repeating patterns, text fragments, surface processes, and sonic rhythms, underpinning the Alchemist’s structural design.
Jo-man
Morale lead of the Alchemist’s team. Enjoys song and drink, spreads positive energy, and, when needed, raises the tempo to set the team’s pace.
Groundspark (Rebirth Man)
Leader of the resurrection zone. Likes a patterned cape and sets off fireworks in the dark. Eyes rotate 360 degrees—more cute than eerie—and can absorb darkness, yet keeps a principle of non-violence. Strong earth energy.
The Earthworm
In GHUT, it is a quiet guide that senses darkness, humidity, and organic signals to open the lowest-resistance path for RD. It leaves micro-passages between fissures and layers to enable transitions, and where events break off it resumes the tempo to keep continuity. When RD overheats, it sends a calming signal through a contract–release breathing rhythm, steadying emotion and thought. Born from the childhood memory of “infinity underfoot” while digging soil, it makes its way not by plans but by the sum of immediate responses.
The Sage Hen
A wise hen respected in ‘GHUT: 것’ world. Has such firm standards she could live without law. In a love-hate bond with RD: sometimes flips him with sharp claws, yet ultimately helps correct him. Transforms into varied looks like a bird of many colors.
The Dragon (Gemscale)
A dragon with gem scales. Wise and devoted, shares its scales to help others. When scales are divided, recovery time is required.
The Snake (Softcoil)
A snake with a blank, nondescript expression. In truth cheerful and sociable. Even without teeth, eats without issue, and enjoys gatherings—rarely misses one.
The Crazy Horse
A genius horse, learned and talkative. RD’s close friend; possesses muscular stamina and treats nothing lightly. When running in overload, requires enforced rest.
What is 'Schematic Medium'?
‘Schematic Medium’ is the core methodology penetrating my artistic world. It is a structure of thinking that does not seek to reproduce the essence of the world, but rather to model how the world operates. This term is defined on two levels
Schematic Chart
The left sector of the chart contains a deep exploration into how I dissect and perceive the source of life and existence. Core concepts like 'Origin,' 'Universe,' 'Black Hole,' 'Nature,' and 'Chaos' are interwoven with the physical dimensions of 'Time' and 'Space.' This reveals that I perceive the world not as a mere phenomenon, but by deconstructing it into fundamental forces and orders. Crucially, the Holon philosophy offers an integrated perspective, showing that every entity is both 'the whole and the part,' forming the core pillar of my ontological thought. This sector is the solid foundation of my artistic contemplation and the very manner in which I perceive the cosmos and the self.

BYR 99 Prime Elements
BYR 99 Prime Elements constitutes the most fundamental structural framework of Kim Heejo’s visual language. The series establishes the minimal unit of form through ninety‑nine elements—thirty‑three each of Blue, Yellow, and Red. Each element carries a specific formal code: Blue (square / human), Yellow (triangle / nature), and Red (circle / cosmos), and the relationships among these three elements generate the artist’s visual system.
BYR Organic Schemata
BYR Organic Schemata develops from the structure of BYR Prime Elements and demonstrates the organic expansion of the formal system. Through the combination and variation of the basic elements, new configurations of form and structure emerge. The series moves beyond simple geometric units to explore a more fluid and organic visual order.
BYR Quad Origin
BYR Quad Origin investigates the generative principles of form by reducing the fundamental elements of the BYR system into a geometric structure. Within the relationships between basic forms and colors, the works examine structure, balance, and tension. Through minimal compositions, the series reveals the structural foundation of the BYR visual language while allowing diverse formal variations.
Tri Form Series
The Tri Form Series rearticulates the conceptual structure of BYR Prime Elements as a unified system. Whereas Blue (Gyeok), Yellow (Hyeong), and Red (Gong) were previously presented as independent formative principles, here they are reconfigured to operate simultaneously within a single, integrated structure.
Schematic Studies
Schematic Painting is an abstract painting series that investigates the structural relationships among fundamental visual elements. Lines, forms, and colors organize the pictorial field, producing both compositional order and visual tension. Through painting, the series explores the formative principles of the Schematic Medium.
Core-Searching series
Core-Searching Drawings are early works that investigate the fundamental structure of the artist’s visual language. Through repeated variations of simple forms and signs, the drawings explore the process through which conceptual ideas transform into formal structures. These drawings mark the starting point of a visual system that later expands into painting and object-based works.
Face Series
The Face series is a body of paintings centered on the human face. Moving beyond conventional portraiture, the works explore emotional and psychological traces of human presence through color, brushstroke, composition, and expression. Each painting articulates the individuality and atmosphere of its subject through painterly means.
