The <One Hour Series> is a work that captures and expresses the key characteristics of various figures within a single hour, adopting an approach similar to croquis. This series demonstrates the concentration and intuition required to observe a subject in a short period and instantaneously capture the essence of a person through brushstrokes. Through these works, I do not merely depict figures but exercise the ability to rapidly understand and convey their core qualities.
 

Paintings of this tendency hold several significant meanings from aesthetic and art-historical perspectives. First, the <One Hour Series> can be associated with Impressionism. Just as Impressionist painters used rapid brushstrokes and intuitive approaches to capture momentary effects of light and color, this series can be seen as an attempt to instantaneously grasp the characteristics of a figure. This is a method that emphasizes the core qualities and sensations of the subject rather than traditional detailed depiction, exploring the internal expression of the person.
 

Furthermore, this series can be linked to the Expressionist tendencies of the early 20th century. Expressionist painters emphasized emotion and subjective experience, seeking to reveal emotional essence by distorting or simplifying the subject.
 

In particular, my intuitive judgments and momentary decisions play a crucial role in the process until the work is completed. This working method highlights not only the artwork as a final product but also the creative and cognitive processes contained within it. In this respect, it clearly demonstrates the early tendencies of the Schematic Painting that I pursue.
