About The Work

Pattern Studies is a work that experiments with the possibilities of expanding the compositional elements found in the works of renowned artists like Matisse, particularly focusing on brushstrokes, repetitive patterns, and color schemes. Through various modifications and reinterpretations, I seek to understand and push the boundaries of these traditional techniques.

In addition to exploring the formal aspects of pattern and repetition, Pattern Studies also delves into the emotional and psychological impact of these elements. By manipulating scale, rhythm, and color intensity, I not only pay homage to the original works but also recontextualizes them within a contemporary framework. This approach allows for an exploration of how different applications and variations of patterns can evoke diverse responses from viewers.

Moreover, Pattern Studies engages in the broader dialogue between tradition and innovation in art. By deconstructing and reconstructing these traditional elements, I reinterpret them as new possibilities within contemporary art, demonstrating how classical aesthetics and modern approaches can interact to create novel visual experiences.
