What elements constitute
life’s parameters 기준?
What fruit 어떠한 결실을 맺는가
do I beget?
How must I use
the deep pride 긍지
born of profundity 깊이
alone 다른이 없이
to prevent
the extinction 소멸
of beauty 근원적 체험의 아름다움
or the light of the spirit 정념?
How do I “disentangle” my ethos?
I see existence in nature,
in its corresponding 대응하는
reality 현실 and
image 상 as
time 시간
in a shared realm
of reasons 근거,
emotions 정서 and senses 감각들
embodying
the WHOLE 만물!
Nature of cognition 인지한다는 것 자체
is
empty 공허한
and transient 덧없는.
ART 예술
lives in and responds to time.
A record amends
the altered memory
of me and gives
re-birth 새로 거듭나다
to me.

기억은 변질되고 잊혀지는 존재. 기록은 과거로 통하는 창. 치열한 삶의 기록은 기억 속의 나를 고쳐나가며 나를 다시 탄생시킨다.
인생을 규정하는 요소들은 과연 무엇이며, 나는 어떠한 결실을 맺기위해 살아가는가?
말라르메는 '만물의 처음이 아니라 마지막 끝에 놓았다'고 말한 바 있다. 자연속의 존재, 이것에 대응하는 현실과 이미지, 나는 이것을 시간이라고 본다. 그 이미지와 상징을 통하여 무엇을 인식하고 있는지를 항상 인지해야 하지만, 그 어떠한 것을 인지한다는 것 자체가 한시적이고 덧없음도 안다. 그리하여 나의 회화는 시간에 대응하는 현실과 그것에 대응하는이미지로 세상에 존재하며, 내 회화 속의 기록은 잘못된 기억속의 나를 고쳐나가고 한번 또 재탄생시킨다.
Post-existence question. Memory changes and is forgotten. Record is the window to the past. Cuthroat life’s record fixes the me of memory, and gives re-birth to me.
What elements indeed regulate human life? Bearing of what fruit do I live for?
Mallarme said, deep pride born of profundity alone is spirit’s light. And the purest light. How must I use that pride to prevent the extinction of life’s beauty? What could simplify my identity & integrity, and fight for the renewal of my pure-spirited existence? Existence in nature, its corresponding reality and image, I see that as time though I must always be aware of what I am recognizing. Through the image and the symbol, I know that the cognition itself is temporary and transient. Therefore, my art exists in the world as the reality and image that respond to time, the record within my art amends the false memory of me. And gives re-birth to me.
