김희조 작가는 미국 뉴욕의 스쿨 오브 비주얼 아츠 순수미술학과를 졸업(2006)한 뒤 뉴욕 스튜디오 스쿨 오브 드로잉, 페인팅 & 스컬프쳐에서 회화 석사학위를 취득(2018)했다.

이탈리아 밀라노에서 첫 개인전 “Hello, Dolly!”(2009, Galleria gli Eroici Furori)를 개최한 후 주로 미국에서 활동해 왔다. 김희조 작가는 2010년 뉴욕의 블랭크 스페이스 갤러리에서 듀오전 “The Series” 와 2020년 서울의 유아트스페이스에서 개인전 “BYR: Prime Elements”를 개최하였다.

또한 Bowery Gallery(뉴욕, 미국), Main Gallery(뉴욕, 미국), Centotto Gallery(뉴욕, 미국), 인터알리아 갤러리(서울, 한국), 인사아트센터(서울, 한국), 가나아트센터(서울, 한국)에서 열린 단체전에 참여하였다.

현재 서울, 한국에서 활동 중이다.

Heejo Kim currently lives and works in Seoul, Korea.  She earned bachelor’s degrees in fine arts at School of Visual Arts(2006) and master’s degrees in painting at New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture (2018).

After having her first solo exhibition, Hello, Dolly! at the Galleria Gil Eroici Furori in Milan, Italy in 2009, she mainly worked in the United States. In 2010, her duo exhibition, The Series, was featured at the Blank Space Gallery in New York, and her solo exhibition, BYR: Prime Elements, was held at UARTSPACE in Seoul, Korea in 2020. 

Kim also participated in many group exhibitions, including the the Bowery Gallery (New York, USA), Centotto Gallery (New York, USA), the Main Gallery (New York, USA), Interalia Gallery (Seoul, Korea), Insa Art Center (Seoul, Korea) and Gana Art Center (Seoul, Korea).
