차트

‘Schemata Chart’는 작가의 세계관과 예술관을 보여준다. ‘Schemata Chart’는 세상에 존재하는 모든 ‘것’을 인간으로서 인식하고 예술가로서 대응하는 시각을 보여주는 도식체계이다. 이 차트에는 세상을 바라보는 작가의 시각과 태도가 확고한 개념과 명확한 용어를 통하여 드러나고 있다. 

예를 들어 도표의 좌측 상단에 명기된 ‘것’은, 존재하고는 있지만 인간의 인식과 언어로는 포착될 수 없는 그 모든 ‘것(Thing)’들을 지칭하는 작가만의 용어이다. 또한 우주를 하나의 유기적인 덩어리로 보는 시각은 ‘Holon’이라는 개념을 빌어 잘 표현되고 있다. ‘Schemata Chart’ 에는 작가의 분신으로 등장한 R.D.(Revolutionary Debris)라는 캐릭터의 안내로 BYR Prime Elements 의 작동원리 뿐만 아니라 앞으로 펼쳐질 새로운 작품도 예측해 볼 수 있는 흥미와 기대감이 가득하다.

CHART

‘Schemata Chart,’ the artist’s drawing that reflects her points of view on world and art. ‘Schemata Chart’ is a schematic of a human’s  perception of all ‘things’ that exist in the world and of an artist’s responsive perspective. The artist’s perspective and attitude toward the world are revealed through a firm concept and the use of clear terminology in this chart. 

One such instance of the clear use of the artist’s own terminology is ‘것'(‘GUHT’) which appears on the top left part of the chart; ‘것'(‘GUHT’) connotes all things that exist but elude human recognition or language. Furthermore, the perspective on the universe as a single organic matter is well-communicated through the concept of ‘Holon.’  

In ‘Schemata Chart,’ the artist’s alter ego R.D.(Revolutionary Debris) makes the entrance to guide us so that we both get a glimpse into the mechanism behind BYR Prime Elements and also become filled with excitement over the expectation of the Artist’s future works.

RD는 김희조의 세계관을 혁신적으로 구축하는데 기여한 무의식의 잔재들임과 동시에 이드(Id)에서 탄생한 제 2의 작가적자아 (alter ego as an artist)이다. 이들은 창작과정에서 탄생하는 잉여적 존재이기 때문에 우울, 화, 무기력, 비꼼, 건방짐 등의 컨텍스트로 표출된다. 따라서 김희조의 창작은 궁극적으로 RD의 협조와 도움을 통하여 이루어지며 현실세계의 자아와 작품은 이들을 통하여 매일 정화되어 나가는 것이다.

Characters in the Chart

RD is at once the subconscious residue that contributed to Heejo Kim’s revolutionary worldview and her alter ego as an artist born of ID. As they are surplus products of the artist’s creative process, they are expressed in the context of depression, anger, lethargy, sarcasm, arrogance, etc. Thus, Heejo Kim’s creativity is ultimately achieved through the cooperation and assistance of the RD, and her ego and work are distilled daily through them.
